My greatest prayer for you as you approach delivery, is that you will meet the living God in your birth. That you will behold his mighty presence to sustain and deliver you. He is your deliverer! Experience his presence and his power as he uses your body as the vessel for his creation of and for bringing forth a new human being into the world!It is his work from beginning to end. It is his handiwork and his possession; it is not primarily your baby.
Although you are in labor, it is his work within you, and he will bring it to completion! Philippians 1:6 says,
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion …”
Your role is to yield to, even embrace, his work within your body. Do not resist, it is like kicking against the goads as the Lord said to Paul in Acts chapter 9. Rather, embrace it, even praise him for it, and see his mighty hand in it. In labor, entrust yourself to him and lay down your self for his use. It is a glorious purpose for your body, and your life, to nurture a new human being, a person with a soul, for him.As it says in Exodus 2:9,
“take this child and nurture him for me.”
This is what the Lord is saying to you.Hallelujah! What a privilege, and what dignity!
